Creating a stylish environment in your restaurant

Updated on: January 31 2014

As Yuan Mei, a literary genius once said “There is a difference between dining and eating. Dining is an art. When you eat to get the most out of your meal, to please the palate, just as well as to satiate the appetite – that, my friend, is dining.” Here at Hilden we couldn’t agree more! Your restaurant should be tantalising for your guests – in food and in style. Don’t fear though, as we’re here to help you inject style into all aspects of your establishment from beautiful tablecloths, napkins, lighting and food, leaving your guests hungry for more!

If you want to create a truly stylish atmosphere putting the right furniture in there and dressing it up well will make all the difference. Choose good quality table linen, we like crisp whites, to add a touch of class. If you want to get inventive with your table linen you could try your hand at some napkin folding art to wow your guests.

Good lighting ensures the quality of your restaurant environment is visible ad has maximum impact on your customers. It can also help to create a strong emotional or subconscious response in people. Think about the type of atmosphere you want to create as lighting is great for this. Use dimmed lighting to create a romantic atmosphere or bright and modern fixtures for a more contemporary feel.

The main event. What you serve is ultimately the thing that will keep customers coming back time and time again or will help to create a buzz about your restaurant. Obviously cuisine is key here to what dishes you choose to serve but think about your price range and the target market for customers. Do you want to give your guests value for money, oversized gastro portions or contemporary dishes to name a few? Choose this first and then build your style around it.
