Can you please tell us a bit about the history of the cottages and the area?

Devon Willows Holiday Cottages has been a family run business for the past 14 years. We do it all, from taking the booking, and giving our guests a warm west country welcome, to cleaning the cottage after they leave. We have 3, 2 bedroom cottages situated in 2 locations within the Axe Valley in East Devon.  The Willows Cottage is set amidst the ancient waterways of the River Axe, within the grounds of the historic Weycroft Mill.  Set in a semi rural location, some half a mile from the small market town of Axminster, and our Colhayne Cottages Nestling in the stunning Axe valley, they were a former hay barn,  that has been converted to provide high quality accommodation for couples and families, seeking a base from which to explore this wonderful part of the English countryside, and The Jurassic Coast. All our cottage sleep 4 but I’m sorry no pets and no smoking in the cottages.

What is your busiest time of year?

Some people think that our busiest time of year is the Summer, but as we only allow week booking during peak times, it’s in our off peak time October through to March as this is when we have our short breaks available (minimum of 2 nights, excluding Christmas & New Year) . So we can have up to 3 change overs in 1 week. This means a lot of washing, ironing and wear on our linen, hence the reason we have to have top quality linen at all times. We love what we do and wouldn’t, couldn’t see ourselves doing anything else.

If you could recommend a Hilden product to our readers what would it be and why?

I would recommend Hilden to anyone and have done. I couldn’t pick just one item as they are all very good quality & you get  value for money. My husband loves the sheets and to quote him he says they “feel like silk”

How often do you find you need to replace your linen?

Even with the highest quality linen being in the hospitality  business means it does take a bashing from general wear. As soon as we see it needs changing it get changed and we usually buy a complete change over every time.
